High Pass Filters, Low Pass Filters, and Crossover

SysNav compatible loudspeakers and subwoofers offer a number of crossover, high-pass filter and low-pass filter options. These include crossover settings optimized for QSC active subwoofers and LA108/LA112 line array loudspeakers. In addition, SysNav provides generic crossover setting options.

LA108/112 and Arrays

High Pass Filter

The High Pass Filter (HPF) popup may be accessed from the Settings, Array, or EQ/Filters screen.

Options for the LA108 and LA112 loudspeakers and arrays include:

  • No HPF or Crossover

  • Optimized settings for use with QSC active subwoofers. Selection of the same QSC Crossover for LS118 and LA108/LA112 is recommended. Frequency and Filter settings are not adjustable when QSC presets are selected.

  • 80 Hz (QSC KS, LS subwoofers)

  • 100 Hz (QSC KLA, KS, KW subwoofers)

  • Variable Butterworth or Linkwitz/Riley filters - When one of these is selected the user may adjust the crossover frequency using the EQ screen Freq control.

Low Pass Filter

The LPF settings are accessed via the EQ/Filters screen. Once a filter is selected, the LPF Frequency control may be used to set the low-pass frequency. The LPF may be engaged/disengaged using the EQ controls LPF button.

LS118 Subwoofer Mode

The Subwoofer Mode popup is used to control low-pass filter and related settings. It may be accessed from the Settings screen or the EQ/Filters screen.

  • 80/100 Hz QSC Crossover - Optimized settings for use with QSC loudspeakers. Frequency and Filter settings are not adjustable when QSC presets are selected. Selection of the same QSC Crossover for LS118 and LA108/LA112 is recommended.

  • DEEP - Offers the option of greater low-frequency extension with some reduction in maximum acoustic output. DEEP is combined with the 80/100 Hz crossover function described above. When DEEP is engaged, the HPF and EQ filters are unavailable.

  • Variable LPF - Butterworth and Linkwitz-Riley filters with choices of filter slope are offered. The low-pass frequency may be adjusted from the PEQ screen

  • Cardioid - LS118 subwoofers may be deployed in a cardioid array configuration. When Carioid Mode is engaged, the HPF and EQ filters are unavailable. For more detailed information, see the LS118 User Manual.

    • Cardioid Front - Select this setting for the forward (audience) facing subwoofer.

    • Cardioid Rear - There are three potential configurations for an LS118 cardioid array. Select the appropriate setting for the rear facing subwoofer.
