Troubleshooting

Under certain conditions (such as installation of a firmware update), the Array Optimization An array is Optimized when the DSP settings of the array members all match and the appropriate filters have been applied based on information provided by QSC AWARE™ regarding the number of array member loudspeakers and total splay. Also see Ar-Q. control, located on the Control-Drilldown > Array screen, can become inoperative. Symptoms would be:
-
The yellow Optimization Apply button is displayed but does nothing.
-
The Deployed Array Tilt and Splay
The angle between two adjacent loudspeakers in an array. Angles values are displayed as 0 degrees.
Solution
There are two approaches to resolving this problem. Option 1 requires access to the Rear-panel User Interface (RUI). Option 2 may be used whether or not the RUI is accessible.
Option 1
-
Close SysNav.
-
Power-cycle the array.
-
The Home screen will appear.
-
If the banner at the top of the screen is green on all the array member loudspeakers, launch SysNav.
-
If the banner at the top of the screen is orange, press and hold the rotary encoder for 3 seconds. After the banner turns green, launch SysNav.
-
-
Go to the Inventory
The devices that are part of a design. An Inventory device may be virtual or physical. screen and make sure that the Discovered array(s) is/are Reconciled (see Inventory).
-
From Control - List View, select the array and go to Control - Drilldown > Array. The array may already be Optimized. If it isn’t, touch/click the Optimization Apply button.
Option 2
-
Close SysNav.
-
Power-cycle the array.
-
Allow at least 1 minute for the loudspeakers to restart before opening SysNav.
-
Go to the Inventory screen and make sure that the Discovered array(s) is/are Reconciled (see Inventory).
-
From Control - List View, select the array and go to Control - Drilldown > Array. The array may already be Optimized. If it isn’t, touch/click the Optimization Apply button.
Note: If the above steps don’t resolve the problem there may be a fault in a speaker's angle sensing system. As a workaround, switch the Designed/Deployed switch to Designed and input the splay angles for the array. Optimization Apply will now use these values to determine the appropriate settings for the array.

Issues associated with firmware updates can arise from network connection problems - especially when dealing with larger numbers of L Class loudspeakers.
-
If attempting to update a large number of loudspeakers at one time, try performing the update in smaller batches.
-
If using Wi-Fi to connect your device to the SysNav network, try using a wired connection instead.
-
Some lower-end routers have a limited number of DHCP addresses available and may not have the capacity to properly connect with everything on the network. Keep in mind that each connection to an L Class speaker is actually two connections - one for the SysNav network and another for Dante.
